Last night after watching Wanted and reading the first hundred pages of Rabbit Run I was struck by the similarities between Updikes great novel and Bekmambatov’s film.  The two protagonists Rabbit and Wesley have a lot in common.  They both left unhappy relationships in search of their identity.  They are both fighting against drab conformity.  They both have a penchant for curving bullets and building rat bombs.  And of course they both take orders from a fate loom.
